Workshops for Students & Youth in Schools and Community Programs
Being a teen is hard, and arguably harder these days with the constant pull of attention to screens, pressures from friends, family, our ever chaotic, shifting environmental and political world, and the lingering background of coronavirus. Tessa’s workshops create connections for students, both to the material they are studying in class, and to each other.
The workshops are designed to augment curriculum in class while waking up students' creativity and imaginations. When we are in the creative, right hemisphere of the brain, we are naturally in a state of calm and presence. Everyone is creative. Although many of us don’t exercise this capacity daily, we all have an imagination that yearns to play, even after we leave childhood. Whatever students bring to the classroom, Tessa’s workshops, which include creative writing exercises, movement, meditation and sharing circles, will leave students feeling more grounded and connected to what they are studying in class, to themselves and each other.
